Exposed aggregate vs stamped vs coloured: which is right for your driveway?
Exposed aggregate, stencilled, and coloured concrete are the three finishes most Tablelands homeowners ask about. They look different, they cost different, and they age differently. Here's the honest comparison.
Exposed aggregate is the most forgiving in the long run. The washed stone surface hides tyre marks, leaf stains, and the inevitable oil drip. It costs more upfront but tends to look the best at year ten.
Coloured concrete (oxide mixed through the slab) gives a clean, even tone and works beautifully with modern homes. It will fade slightly over years of UV - sealing slows that right down.
Stencilled concrete imitates pavers or stone at a fraction of the cost. It looks great when fresh, but the printed pattern relies on a sealer to hold its crispness - plan for resealing every few years.
